On Sunday, I spent the day at Planet Cake. The course I was enrolled in was the Novelty 101 which was a circus tent cake.

I thought because I had already done the Basics 101 course that I would find this one easy! I was wrong! I didn’t expect the shaping and ganaching to be so difficult!

We started with a square cake and carved it into a round, using the off cuts to shape the top of the cake. Then we covered it in ganache.

With the help of the teacher and facilitator, I got there eventually!

I had so much fun at this course, and left having learnt so many new things! My next Planet Cake course is the Basics 102 in April!
