As well as cakes, I also made Christmas cookies this year.  I made chocolate and vanilla sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies.  I used a lot of different cookie cutters and did a batch of colourful cookies and a batch of snowflake cookies.  My favourites were the snowflake cookies!
